As laws change to allow varying degrees of cannabis use throughout the country, the question becomes: How do we incorporate this industry into our communities? The old stereotypes are quickly fading, as cannabis uses become more broad and the demographic grows. For example a non-intoxicant strain is used to treat children with epilepsy, another is used to treat pain for cancer patients and some veterans struggling with post-war anxiety prefer it to other medications. It can even be accepted as a vehicle for recreational socializing, much like meeting at the local bar after work. Although, all of these cannabis uses are different, the solution is the same; create a safe, accessible, well-designed space that is committed to the larger community cannabis is now serving. The goal of JFD+B is to help modernize the perception and aesthetic of Cannabis retail shops.
